Customer Reviews

5 stars Toys from Amazon
All the toys I ordered from Amazon were age appropriate and the children loved them. They were educational and durable and every time I need to order toys, I will go to Amazon. I give them each five stars.

5 stars LOVE IT! BUY IT!
We love this toy! I thought it was a cool idea when we received it for a Christmas gift when my daughter was 1. I was unsure if it was a novelty toy that she'd grow tired of, or if it would be sturdy enough to last. The gears may have slowed ever so slightly due to my daughter and now her little sister standing on it while they play with it, and spilling milk on it, but it is still a hit and works very well! It's been used and abused in our house, and I can't believe how much they still love it and how well it still works!
As another reviewer mentioned, try to keep track of the pieces, because there are no extras! Fun and educational (shhh...don't tell the kids!) toy! LOVE IT!

4 stars A Most Excellent Diversion ... for an 11-month-ish child
Grandma picked up this toy for us, and I thought 'Oh no, not another toy,' BUT I must say that Busy Gears holds the interest of our 11-month-old longer than any other toy we have, with the exception of Munchkin Mozart Magic Cube which holds that place of honor (by a long shot). Yes, I do realize that the recommended age for Busy Gears is 12 months to 3 years, but I believe that is scaled way too high. As other reviews have noted, a bunch of spinning gears isn't very exciting for a 2+ year old.

PROS: bright gears, seems durable (so far), colors, lights and music are diverting for a little one.

CONS: No extra gears, stacking the gears is a miraculous feat, and the carrying handle is a ridiculous feature given that as soon as the product is held upright all of the gears topple to the floor (as nothing but gravity holds them on to begin with).

BOTTOMLINE: A good bet. I'd definitely buy it again

5 stars Great, hands-on fun!
I bought this item for a gift and found out my own little boys would have rather had me keep it for them. The lights are great along with the movement of the gears. It will keep any little person about 1yr- even 7yrs. old busy for a long while. I think I'll be buying another one of these very soon for my boys. Only down side is that there is no storage bag for the gears which can come off and you have to keep track of them. Also I have only been able to find this online here. Great toy though!!

4 stars Cute
My 1-year old enjoys this, but there's really not much to it. You push the button, it plays a tune, then the gears spin. My son can easily pull the gears off and put them back on, and he frequently will hold the center gear so everything stops.

I do wish there was a little more to it, but it is very cute for what you pay for it.

FYI, make sure the switch on the back is set correctly. We didn't realize it was set to DEMO and it barely played any music at all. Now that it is set right it plays a variety of short tunes before & after the gears spin.
